$83.45
MAPEI Mapelastic 315 is a flexible, cement-based waterproofing and crack-isolation membrane for tile and stone installations. Designed for interior and exterior wet areas, it helps prevent water migration and protects against in-plane substrate cracks. Ideal for showers, balconies and other moisture-prone environments.
Dual Waterproofing and Crack-Isolation Protection in One System
MAPEI Mapelastic 315 is a professional, trowel-applied cement-based waterproofing membrane engineered to provide both waterproofing and crack isolation beneath ceramic tile and natural stone. Its flexible, fiber-mesh-reinforced formulation helps protect finished surfaces from moisture intrusion and substrate movement.
Designed for indoor and outdoor use, this membrane delivers dependable performance in residential, commercial and industrial environments exposed to intermittent wet or submerged conditions.
Reliable Barrier Against Water Migration in Wet Areas
Mapelastic 315 forms a continuous waterproof barrier that prevents water from penetrating into underlying structures. It exceeds ANSI A118.10-L requirements for waterproofing and is IAPMO-listed for use as a shower-pan liner, making it suitable for critical wet-area installations.
Ideal for:
-
Showers and steam rooms
-
Bathrooms and laundry rooms
-
Balconies and terraces
-
Commercial kitchens and wet industrial spaces
By stopping moisture at the surface, it helps protect substrates from long-term damage.
Compatible with High-Performance Mortars and System Components
Mapelastic 315 is compatible with polymer-modified cement-based mortars meeting ANSI A118.4 or better, as well as epoxy mortars meeting ANSI A118.3. It integrates seamlessly with MAPEI’s Fiberglass Mesh and Mapeband accessories for enhanced detailing at corners, joints and transitions.
Key system benefits include:
-
Bonds to a wide range of properly prepared substrates
-
Compatible with MAPEI mortars and grouts for complete system protection
-
Designed to support long-term tile and stone performance
Smooth Application and Efficient Project Turnaround
This cement-based membrane is trowel-applied and helps eliminate most surface preparation by smoothing over porous or uneven substrates. Once applied, tile or stone can typically be installed after an 8- to 12-hour cure, with flood testing possible after 72 hours.
Its durable yet flexible formulation makes it a practical choice for projects requiring dependable waterproofing with efficient installation timelines.
